The (re)formative school

Hervormende school hoog
Education is facing major challenges that force us to adapt and reform our education system. The latest book, written by Prof. Dr. Kristof De Witte (KUL, visiting fellow Itinera) and Prof. Dr. Jean Hindriks (UCL, senior fellow Itinera), gives an insight into several significant reforms in Dutch and French speaking education. More specifically, it relates to the reform of secondary education in Flanders, the M-decree, the ‘Pacte d’Excellence’ (Pact of Excellence), teacher training and dual learning. It also refers to international trends that might provide inspiration for our own reforms.

In addition to reform, we are also focusing on student education, more specifically the ideal prescribed by the ‘Pacte d’Excellence’, i.e. that of an open and efficient school. Finally, the book looks in more detail at the digital transition taking place in our schools and at selection, registration fees and what’s on offer in higher education. The (re)formative school is accessible for the public at large.
