Protect deposits against speculation

The United Kingdom has decided to compel banks to separate their commercial activities from their investment activities in order to protect the depositors. The European Union wishes to compel all its member to do the same but the big banks resist this idea. Belgium has to think about a solution that would not only protect the depositors and the State, but also banks themselves.
