2014-19: Towards a targeted health care policy with collective ambition

The sustainability of our health care system is endangered. During the next legislation a long-term strategy for our health care policy must be developed. Itinera discusses the main priorities in the report “Towards a targeted health care policy with collective ambition.” It’s clear that we will have to do more with less resources. This is possible if we choose to organize our health care system differently and particularly smarter. Itinera places three fundamental principles central in the debate: (1) Quality of care: publication of health care results and including added value in the payment system of medical doctors and hospitals; (2) The patient: evolve towards a horizontal continuum of care; (3) The team: invest in health care personnel and in care process innovation.
